ArtePollino2022 – ABC. Workshops of Living Beauty Together

From 17 to 19 June, CHIARA RIZZI, SILVANA KUHTZ, SAVERIO MASSARO and SILVIA PARENTINI of the University of Basilicata, who are involved in several research projects on the topic of walking also through the Walking Workshop (Laboratorio del Cammino), will lead the “ABC. Workshops of Living Beauty Together” travelling experiences.

Chiara Rizzi
Professor and local contact person of the Walking Workshop at the University of Basilicata. Associate Professor in Architectural and Urban Composition in Matera, at the Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures of the University of Basilicata, she carries out her ‘research-action’ in the Nature-City Lab of the same university.  In addition to teaching and studying, she collaborates with various associations and organisations active in urban, social and cultural regeneration. She is the author of over 100 articles and contents published on national and international journals and essays, as well as some books.

Silvana Kuhtz
Trainer, professor and researcher at the University of Basilicata since 1995 – she has taught Languages, future and possibilities since 2006 – in Matera, at the Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures (architecture degree course). Her research combines writing, reading, sensory experiences, landscape crossing, as well as cities’ regeneration. She has been conducting workshops on sensory experiences, creativity and readings for adults and children.

Saverio Massaro
Professor and local contact person of the Walking Workshop at the University of Basilicata. Architect with a PhD at the Sapienza University in Rome, with the dissertation titled “Integrated urban strategies to address the waste crisis. New opportunities for civic architecture.” Visiting scholar at the KU Leuven (Belgium) and visiting researcher at the ILIESI-CNR.  He is currently a lecturer at the Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures of the University of Basilicata. He cooperates with the TEC University – Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico) and its MUI museum for the development of collaborative projects between Mexico and Italy. He carries out academic activity and he is a civic designer, as well as President of the association “Esperimenti Architettonici”. He is a member of “Urban experience”, an association whose aim is to promote participatory urban regeneration strategies.

Silvia Parentini
She lives in Matera where she works as an architect. She is currently enrolled in a PhD in Cities and Landscapes at the Department of European and Mediterranean Cultures of the University of Basilicata. She deals with urban and social regeneration throughout Basilicata’s inland areas. She graduated in Architectural Design at the Roma Tre University after a one-year training in Paris, at the École Spéciale d’Archtecture. She is part of the technical group of the Tower Art Museum (TAM), an on-going project of a contemporary art museum in Matera.
